The surrounding black fog is getting lighter and lighter, but the mirage scene is becoming clearer and clearer.
This time I no longer saw the faint outline, I could even clearly see the ghostly palace in the distance and the Buddha statue standing in the center of the palace.
We were walking on a road with the sea to the west, and from time to time a shark's mouth would appear under our feet, rushing towards us with its bloody mouth open.
Sometimes it's a giant crocodile, sometimes it's a helpless ghost hand.
But the most frightening thing is the deep blue that cannot be seen to the bottom. It is like a closed space. We are in the sea and may be submerged at any time or suffocated to death at any time.
Along the way, I kept reminding myself: It’s an illusion, an illusion, don’t believe it!
Yin Ling'er and Ge Weihan had already woken up just now. Although they knew that all this was a mirage, they couldn't help being frightened!
We walked on the sea road with fear, and finally arrived under the palace.
The strange thing is that there are no guards at the city gate, and the door is not even locked...
A creak!
Hua Hu pushed open the city gate and led us in first.
There was actually a lively street inside, with various vendors on both sides, some selling silk, some selling pottery, and some carrying poles selling wontons.
There are many good men and women on the road, holding incense in their hands, seeking marriage and blessings from the Buddha statue in the distance.
This bustling downtown is so crowded that it makes people feel like they have traveled back to the prosperous age of the Tang Dynasty.
But I know that this should be a ghost market!
There is a similar record in Qilin's archives. During the Qing Dynasty, a native man named Sun Yugou went to Luoyang to rob tombs. On the way, he was suddenly stopped by a fortune teller and told him: Remember, if you want to survive, don't talk to strangers. People talk.
At that time, Sun Yugou didn't take it seriously. As a result, the group of people really got into trouble in Tieyaozi Ridge. It was obviously a barren mountain, but when they got lost, they saw a beautiful manor.
However, the old and young people in the manor received them with great enthusiasm. There were beautiful girls dancing with them, fine wine and delicious food, and the excited local masters had fun all night long. Only Sun Yugou suddenly remembered the fortune teller's words, so he pretended to be deaf and mute in the manor, neither talking to those weirdos nor eating the food they handed him, and he survived like this until the next day.
At dawn, the manor disappeared out of thin air. He was sitting alone in the wilderness, surrounded by the corpses of his companions!
Later I learned that Luoyang is a ghost town. This unprovoked mirage has made countless local masters become ghosts in a foreign land.
Hua Hu did not stop and led us through the crowd.
And it really tells us not to strike up a conversation with any strangers!
At that moment, I clearly saw that the pedestrians and vendors here were faceless.
Their faces were all covered with white paper, and their scarlet lips seemed to be smeared with blood. The more they looked at them, the more horrified they felt, and the two legs under their trousers were actually two bamboo poles.
Sometimes we accidentally encounter people here, and they turn into paper figures in an instant. As for the things they sell, they are actually pieces of black and smelly rotten meat!
There are pig intestines, a crow's head, and even a terrifying tongue, which will make your scalp numb and your stomach churning.
Even the tall Buddha statue in the city, worshiped by faithful men and women, has turned into a toad's face covered with pimples.
"Little girl, would you like a bowl of wontons? They're hot."
"Master, would you like to buy a piece of cloth to make new clothes for your wife?"
"Miss Young Master, do you want to go to the Bodhisattva to ask for a marriage fortune sign?"
"Don't be afraid, it's all hallucinations. Don't talk to them or look at them!" the voice of the flower fox warned us again and again.
It led us around and around in this weird ghost alley. Yin Ling'er and I finally closed our eyes because there were green lanterns everywhere and ghost fires following us.
I don’t know how long it took, but there were fewer and fewer pedestrians, and lanterns and firelight were gradually no longer visible.
When the last lantern was no longer visible, the mirage in front of me completely disappeared, and even the black fog dissipated. I once again saw the twisted dead trees and the messy swamps on the ground.
"Are we out of Ecstasy?" I looked at Hua Hu.
The flower fox snorted and raised its tail high: "Why don't you thank me quickly, Tianhu?"
I bowed my head and said thank you to Hua Hu from the bottom of my heart.
Unexpectedly, Hua Hu was not satisfied and raised his head even higher: "There is no sincerity at all! I was ordered by my mother to hurry along slowly and fall several times before I found you."
Seeing this little fox covered in mud, and remembering its kindness for taking the trouble to lead us out of the underworld, I felt very ashamed.
After groping around in my arms for a while, I finally found a pair of jade earrings that I had received from Diao Ye. The icy water was carved into a watermelon, round and flexible.
I happened to find that this pretty fox had pierced ears, so I quickly raised the pair of earrings like a treasure: "I'm giving this to you, just think of it as my apology, okay?"
Flower Fox was still very angry at first, but when she saw the beautiful earrings, she immediately burst into laughter and said, "Okay, okay."
"It's still in the shape of a watermelon. I love eating watermelon the most..."
All of us are extremely grateful to Hua Hu. Lao Jiang is full of praise for the Tianhu family’s kindness, and Yin Ling’er is not stingy in her actions. She is full of sweet flattery to Hua Hu. : "Beautiful Sister Hua, you are so awesome. You defeated such a terrifying Ecstasy."
Ge Weihan recorded in his diary, stroke by stroke, that the nemesis of Mihundang was actually a fox named Xiaohua. The great adventurer Ge Weihan refused to accept it.
The flower fox stood up like a human being.
I put an emerald earring on the flower fox's ear. It shook its ears, and the emerald earring made a crisp ringing sound.
Hua Hu narrowed his eyes in love and immediately settled the differences with me: "Okay, I'll forgive you, but don't hit me on the head next time. My mother-in-law said that if I hit my head, I won't grow taller!"
Speaking of the latter part, the flower fox gave a hint of a vicious warning, and then he showed a sweet smile: "Come on, put on the right one for me, I should go back."
I quickly moved closer to me, and the colorful fox's giggle sounded in my ears: "When I get back, I'm going to show off and let them..."
Before I could reply, I suddenly heard a strange sound of bubbles coming from under my feet.
Gudong!
Hua Hu's expression changed drastically, and he subconsciously pushed me away from the swamp.
The next second, a huge black shadow that covered the sky and sun appeared behind it.
The black shadow jumped out of the swamp, bringing out huge waves. A long, ferocious, blood-red tongue covered with barbs stuck out from the huge waves. Before the flower fox could even cry out, it was wrapped in a long tongue and stuffed into the huge black hole.
With a 'pop' sound, the jade earring that had not been put on fell to the ground...
